We are very happy to invite you to our 17th Weinakademiker Summer School from Tue, August 27 to Thu, August 29 2024 in Rust (Weinakademie Österreich, Seehof, 7071 Rust, Austria).
On Tuesday we will start with a master class on Greece with oenologist Sofia Perpera, Greek Wine Federation followed by a seminar on Veneto and appassimento led by Weinakademiker Luca Ardiri, export director of iconic Allegrini winery. In the evening of the day the traditional Austrian Grand Tasting featuring more than 25 producers will take place at Katamaran restaurant on the shore of Lake Neusiedl.
A full day wine study trip to Carnuntum will follow on Wednesday. The region has been a rising star of red wine production in Austria in the past decades. Aside of great Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch wines we will discover other hidden gems in this historic production area.
On Thursday we will start the day at the Academy Campus with a Czech master class held by Weinakademiker Klára Kollárová followed by a South African masterclass held by two SA winemakers: Anique Ceronio and Rob Krammer.
And those who can/want to arrive already on Mon, August 26 may join our traditional tasting of Hungarian/Burgenland wines at Weinakademie in the evening of the day. The topic of the tasting is „Burgenland meets Hungary“ with top producers from both sides of the border.

INFO 20th WEINAKADEMIKER WORKSHOP IN GEISENHEIM 20-21 SEPTEMBER
HOCHSCHULE GEISENHEIM
On Friday afternoon we will focus on the topic “Hot topics in the world of wine” – a global perspective by Prof. Dr. Monika Christmann of Geisenheim University and exciting recent sensory research findings presented by Dr. Matthias Schmitt.
Friday evening the traditional VDP tasting with Große Gewächse from Rheingau will follow at Leitz winery.
On Saturday two master classes will take place: Caro Maurer MW will present a master class on “VDP sparkling wines”, and Christian Zechmeister, Weinakademiker, Wein Burgenland will hold a Burgenland red wine master class.
