Weinakademiker Summer School in Rust 
Tuesdag 26. August – Thursday, 28. August 2025

On Tuesday we will start with a master class on Argentina with wine educator Luciano Wehrli, Vinademy, Argentina followed by the panel presentation “The great wines of Hungary” with wineries from the Fine Wines Association of Hungary. In the evening of the day the traditional Austrian Grand Tasting featuring more than 25 producers will take place at Austrian Wine Academy.

full day wine study trip to WAGRAM will follow on Wednesday. After an introduction to the ÖTW group and the philosophy the ÖTW WAGRAM producers will introduce participants in small groups to the unique loess terroir of this area and the new superstar variety Roter Veltliner.

On Thursday we will start the day at the Academy Campus with the lecture “The genealogy of Austrian grape varieties” held by Dr. Ferdinand Regner, one of the leading international researchers and breeders. A vertical tasting of St. Georgen variety – the mother of Grüner Veltliner – will be another highlight of this presentation. Afterwards top producer Günter Triebaumer, Weinakademiker will show in his workshop “Austrian and international grape varieties” a wide range of freshly picked grapes (and leaves) from his experimental vineyard with corresponding wines from micro vinification: from Furmint and Petit Manseng to Pinotage and Nebbiolo.

Weinakademiker Summer School in Geisenheim
Fr, 19. – Sa, 20. September 2025
On Friday afternoon we will focus on the topic How can new labelling laws impact winemaking?” by Prof. Dr. Monika Christmann and Dr. Matthias Schmitt of Geisenheim University.
Friday evening the traditional VDP tasting with Große Gewächse from Rheingau will follow at Leitz winery.

On Saturday three master classes will take place: Manuela Secco, Weinakademiker (Kellerei Eisacktal) and Werner Waldboth, Weinakademiker (Stiftskellerei Kloster Neustift) will hold the master class “Eisacktal - how cool is this!”. Klára Kollárová, Weinakademiker (Národní vinařské centrum) will present a master class on “The great wines of Czech Republic”. Finally Christian Josephi from Bureau du Champagne and Sascha Speicher, wine journalist will host a session on Champagne.

Graduation ceremony at Schloss Esterhazy, Eisenstadt, Austria
Friday 17.10.2025 and Saturday, 18.October 2025
On Fri, 17 October 2025 an online tasting with Jancis Robinson MW will take place at Austrian Wine Academy. On the graduation day in the morning there will be a lecture with Prof. Dr. Hans Reiner Schultz, Geisenheim University, on climate change and a China masterclass with Lin Liu MW. This will be followed by the general assembly of the Weinakademiker Club in the afternoon. Further details will follow in due course.
The Weinakademiker Graduation Ceremony 2025 will take place at Schloss Esterházy in Eisenstadt in the evening of Sat, 18 October 2025.

Graduation ceremony at Schloss Johannisberg, Geisenheim, Germany 14 + 15 November
On Friday 14.November: Schloss Johannisberg will celebrate with a grand tasting and international leading sweet wine producers the 250th anniversary of Spätlese followed by dinner with noble sweet wines. Further details will follow in due course.

Saturday, 15. November 2025
The German division of the Weinakademiker Club will meet around noon. 
Lin Liu MW
 will run a China masterclass in the early afternoon and will end around 16:30 hrs. 
The Weinakademiker Graduation Ceremony 2025 will take place at Schloss Johannisberg in Geisenheim (start around 17 hours)
