The Ultimate Bordeauxblend Battle
Bordeaux is quite possibly the most famous wine region in the world, partly thanks to the white and red grapes that play a starring role there. The white Bordeaux grapes Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon form the basis of acclaimed, often oak-aged wines.
And what about the red Bordeaux grapes? The undisputed international superstars are of course Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This duo can be found in almost every corner of the wine world.
During this Weinakademiker Club Masterclass, Master of Wine Job de Swart takes you on a journey along the most important wine regions for Bordeaux grapes, solo or in blends. He also discusses the impact of climate, soil, vineyard management and vinification on the style and quality of the wines. Naturally, attention is paid to Bordeaux, but we also speak extensively about other wine regions that excel in one or more varieties. There is so much to discover!
Wine tasting
We taste 12 exquisite white and red wines made from Bordeaux varieties, from different countries, in various styles. The selection consists of Bordeaux classics and challengers from other wine regions. A tasting not to be missed!
