The Club der
Weinakademiker is the international platform of all graduates from the Austrian
Wine Academy and functions as their voice and communication tool.
The title “Weinakademiker” may be awarded to successful graduates from
the Diploma in Wine & Spirits (WSET).
Weinakademiker are requested to sign a code of conduct which requires
ongoing further training in the field of oenology and responsibility if dealing
with the cultural object wine.
Objects
It is the object of the Club to promote and cultivate Austrian and
international wine culture. It supports the further education of its members
and assists candidates for the WSET Diploma in their exam preparations.
The Club offers assistance in tasting panels to institutions and
professional organizations and wishes to function as supporting and co-shaping
association for the wine business.
It promotes enhancing wine quality as well as improving wine knowledge
on all levels and supporting regional wine activities.
Structure
The title „Weinakademiker“is subject to membership in the Club therewith
guaranteeing ongoing advanced training and quality assurance.
The Club sets activities via branches in Austria, Germany and
Switzerland. It organizes tastings, seminaries, lectures, wine journeys and
advanced training events.
Including the graduate year 2011 the number of Weinakademiker has risen
to more than 500, 17 nations are represented: Austria, Germany, Switzerland,
Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Poland,
The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Russia, Belarus and the USA.
